What Diet Plan Is Best For Losing Weight

The answer to the title of this article is "none." Thats right, no diet plan on its own is very effective for permanent weight loss. You can stop reading right now and go look for another magic bullet or you can stick around and hear the hard truth.

Still here? Great! OK, the only method for achieving permanent weight loss is to combine a nutritionally balanced diet that consists of a calorie count slightly below what you need to maintain your present body weight along with regular exercise. Im sure youve probably heard this a thousand times before, but like any simple truth thats difficult to accept, it bears repeating. Dieting alone just isnt going to cut it!

Sure, you can lose a few pounds on a calorie-restricted diet alone, but youll eventually hit a point where your body refuses to give up any more of itself. Most people then get frustrated and quit the diet. You know the rest of the story -- you put back all of the weight you lost plus a few extra bonus pounds.

Of course what you hopefully want to lose is body fat. Unfortunately, what you wind up losing when you just diet is a combination of water, fat, and lean muscle. The goal is to maximize fat loss while sparing your muscle tissue.

The great thing about exercise is that when consistently applied, you slowly begin to raise your metabolic rate. So even when youre not active, your body is burning fat. This is the beauty of the "one-two diet and exercise punch" -- the exercise keeps your internal furnace running hot and a lower calorie diet forces your body to throw more fat into the fire for fuel.

So what diet should you choose in combination with an exercise plan? How about just keeping it simple? Avoid the following and you should be fine:

* Saturated fats

* Refined sugar

* Preservative-laden foods such as hotdogs and lunch meats

* Keep the following foods to a minimum:

-- Ice cream

-- Cakes and cookies

-- Candy

-- Soft drinks

-- Chips

-- Fried foods

* Cut back on eating out. Pack your own lunch instead of going to KFC or MacDonalds on your lunch break. The higher-end restaurants have the additional trap of serving ridiculously large portions.

* Speaking of smaller portions -- instead of a 22 oz steak, have a 4 oz steak. Better yet, have a piece of fish or a skinless chicken breast.

For the exercise component, chose something that you will enjoy doing at least 4 times a week for 20-40 minutes. It could be a brisk walk, swimming, or my favorite, the elliptical trainer. Just be sure to set aside the time and then make the commitment to yourself to stick with it!

So there you have it. Its not high tech or glamorous and it wont have you losing 50 lbs in a week, but it has been proven to work time and time again for countless people who have made it an integral part of their lives.

So hopefully you wont ever start a diet again without partnering it up with an exercise routine!

The Secret to Losing Weight Fast!

Obesity is the a major problem around the world but what is the real problem. Well the answer is its not that simple. There are many factors involved. I will name the number reason for obesity in this article.

The number one culprit is unhealthy eating. This includes fast food which is loaded with fake fats, saturated fats and a bunch of calories. These fake fats (trans fats) put an unhealthy strain on your body especially the liver. Its the livers job to break these fake fats down. Since they are not normally seen in the body they are very hard to break down for the liver.

If the liver is constantly bombarded by these fats over time a person may develop a fatty liver which does not function properly. After this happens a person is all but doomed for a life of obesity.The liver will not be able to break down even normal fats and your body will be overloaded with them.

Processed foods are also responsible for the increase in obesity. If the food was made or modified in a lab you can bet its not good for you. The amount of chemicals in food nowadays is enormous and growing. But what it does to the human body is still anyones guess. But you can do an educated guess that they these food chemicals probably are not the best thing to put into your body for health. Many of these food additives and preservatives are actually made from petroleum. Yes you heard right from oil. Not if fake fats are hard on your liver imagine what breaking oil is doing for your liver. Many people also have allergies caused by these fake substances. The environment and pollen are not the only things that can cause allergies.

Food consumption is also important to lose weight. Many people eat because they are bored and or feeling down.They eat food to give themselves an emotional boost. It does work but the foods that give quickest boost are also high sugar foods like desserts. This raises the serotonin levels in the brain and gives a person the feeling of good sensations. The problem with these foods is that they are high in calories and they overwork your pancreas to produce insulin to break down all the sugar being consumed.

Obesity is complex but the main problem is the types and amounts of food being consumed.

Natural food is easily broken down by the liver and the pancreas. Artificial food is not and predisposes a person to obesity.
